Over the weekend I got to play very briefly with Canon’s EOS 60D at the Photo & Film Expo 2010. I thought there may be readers out there that are interested to know my thoughts on it.
For those who have not heard yet, the Photo & Film Expo is now on at the Dome in Johannesburg. Tomorrow (Sat 16th Oct 2010) at 4pm is a presentation by myself – and brought to you by Sony – on the various types of camera designs like Mirrorless, EVIL, Translucent Mirror etc. If you are looking for an exciting place to spend you Saturday (and a possibly not so exciting presentation) then head on over to the show which closes on Sunday.

Recently an article was published on DPReview explaining that Canon will not be at PMA 2010 next year. This is just a personal view and I can see some logic in the reasoning given in that article but the absence of Canon at the recent localy held Photo & Film Expo was sorely felt.
One hopes that the reasoning given is wholly truthful but I doubt that people are oblivious of the tremendous in roads that Nikon, Sony and some would even argue Olympus have made into Canon’s market share. For those Canon users one hopes that they will continue to fly the flag for their supporters. We will have to wait until after PMA to see if it is a mistake or not but one thing is for sure, rumours are flying fast and furious that Canon SA wont miss the 2010 Photo & Film Expo.
